Collect your map and get your paws ready to admire some of Stoneybatter’s feline fancies! The Stoneybatter Cat Crawl aims to highlight the gorgeous cats that live around the area. These stunning cats have been instructed to lounge in the window to be admired during the event. Each window will display a photo of the resident cat as well as its likes/dislikes and unique quirks. Grab a coffee and take a stroll around Stoneybatter with your cat map, and make sure to use the hashtag #stoneybattercatcrawl so we can see your gorge pics!

This event also aims to highlight the important work cat charities do around Dublin city looking after feral and sick cats. There are lots of feral cats around Stoneybatter that are being fed and looked after by wonderful locals. We aim to raise awareness of these local cats as well as these local heroes! We are asking for a donation of €3 for the map, donation will go to CDPA (Link to be provided).

Dr Declan O’Brien is a researcher and agricultural journalist. An Irish Research Council scholar, he has recently completed a PhD at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, on the establishment and growth of the Irish beef processing industry.

He is a former farming editor with the Irish Independent. He will talk about the Cattle Market that, for about a century, stood at the intersection of the North Circular Road and Prussia Street. It is now Drumalee.

A walking introduction to Stoneybatter during the Rising, War of Independence and Civil War periods. A glimpse into the lives of ordinary citizens, insurrectionists and British agents during the tumultuous period.

Stoneybatter was a place where rebels, agents, soldiers and assassins brushed shoulders. Together they used the same shops and drank in the same pubs, while also playing a deadly and game of a cat-and-mouse where the stakes were high and failure meant death.

Due to the unfavourable weather, the Garden Party will not be going ahead. The Food Sustainability Demos will be taking place indoors and info on skills swaps, food sharing and composting will be available at stalls inside.  

Update your wardrobe, refresh your shelves, and up your games game for FREE all while helping the environment at the Festival’s Super Swap! The Super Swap will have a clothes swap, a books swap, AND a games & jigsaws swap. We ask that you bring a maximum of five items of clothing and/or books and/or games & jigsaws, clean and in good condition, to swap. Or just come along and have a browse and a chat! All welcome.

This will be an event for all ages, with kids’ clothes, books, games & jigsaws among the featured items. If you wish, you can drop clothes, books, games and jigsaws for the swap into An Síol Community Project, 19 Manor Street, 10am-2pm the week before the festival, Monday 9th-Friday 12th June. Gerard has been the mentor to Cosybatter, our local Sustainable Energy Community, since it was founded five years ago, working to save energy, to reduce bills, to make our buildings more comfortable and healthy to live and work in, and to play a part in reducing our climate emissions. Gerard is an expert in ways to reduce energy use and bills, and the wide range of grants available.

Join us for a rich and informative historical tour of the National Museum of Ireland – Collins Barracks exploring LGBTQIA+ history in the Museum’s collections.

This tour views the Museum’s exhibitions through alternative lenses, bringing some hidden histories and perspectives to the fore. Focusing on objects and individuals from the 17th to the 21st century, the tour reveals a wide variety of identities, genders and sexualities along the way.

Stillgarden Cocktail Forage with Connor, Stillgarden Distillery’s Gardener-in-Residence. We’re chuffed to once again welcome our green-thumbed neighbour Connor from Dublin’s urban craft distillery in Dublin 8, who’ll be leading a guided urban forage through the streets of Stoneybatter. Along the way, you’ll discover how to spot the botanicals that end up in your favourite tipples, some hidden in plain sight, and how sustainable sipping starts from the ground up. The tour includes stops for a few well-earned cocktail samples, courtesy of the Drink Store and L. Mulligan. Grocer. Rooted in flavour, grounded in community—come taste what Stoneybatter has to offer, one foraged leaf at a time.

This tour focuses on the story of Royal Barracks (now Collins Barracks) and the lives of soldiers who lived there between 1706 until 1993. Learn about their daily activities, living conditions, drilling and marching practices and experiences going to war.

This tour will also explore the story of Collins Barracks becoming a Museum, and will introduce visitors to some of the most fascinating artefacts in the Museum’s collection. As part of this tour, visitors will also be brought to the new Harry Clarke’s-Stained Glass exhibition to see some of Harry Clarke’s earliest work.

An irreverent, fast-paced romp through the Bard’s plays, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) was London’s longest-running comedy having clocked a very palpable nine years in London’s West End at the Criterion Theatre.

Join these madcap actors in tights as they weave their wicked way through all of Shakespeare’s Comedies, Histories, and Tragedies in one wild ride that will leave you breathless and helpless with laughter.
