About The Festival

Who We Are: The Heartbeat of Stoneybatter!

Ever wondered how this amazing neighbourhood festival came to life? Well, grab a cuppa and let us tell you a little story!

It all started back in 2016, sparked by a mighty €1,000 win in  the “Pride of Place” national competition supported by Dublin City Council. Talk about turning small change into something HUGE! ✨

From that little seed, the Stoneybatter Festival blossomed thanks to the incredible energy and dedication of hundreds, maybe even THOUSANDS, of VOLUNTEERS over the years. Yep, you heard that right – this entire celebration is powered by the passion of local folks who love our neighbourhood as much as you do! ❤️

We’re a crew who believes in celebrating everything that makes Stoneybatter special. That’s why our festival weaves together the vibrant threads of Art, Music, Gaeilge (our beautiful Irish language!), the fascinating stories of our Local History, our commitment to Sustainability, and the rich tapestry of our Culture

Our Mission?

Simple: To throw a welcoming and accessible neighbourhood party where all those amazing elements come together for everyone to enjoy. We want to strengthen the bonds that make our community so strong and show off the unique heritage and buzzing vibe of Stoneybatter to the world (and especially to our neighbours!).

Every year, the wheels start turning around March, as local legends and enthusiastic newcomers start dreaming up all sorts of fantastic events. The magic culminates in a three-day local extravaganza that has grown from welcoming around 5,000 folks in the early days to now drawing in thousands and thousands of happy faces each year! 🎉

What’s our secret sauce? It’s simple: YOU! Anyone – from our brilliant local businesses to talented individual performers and passionate residents – can host an event. The Stoneybatter Pride of Place committee steps in to coordinate all this amazing creativity, making sure we have a fantastic three-day celebration right here in our village, with open arms for everyone in the neighbourhood.

So, that’s us in a nutshell! A community-powered, volunteer-fuelled celebration of all things Stoneybatter. We can’t wait to share it with you! 😊

Ways You Can Get Involved:
We need volunteers in all shapes and forms, both in the lead-up to the festival and during the event itself. Here are some of the areas where your help would be hugely appreciated:

– Ahead of the Festival (Now until [Date of Festival]):
– Program Delivery Crew: Help us get the festival program into the hands of our neighbours by delivering them to houses in the area (great for getting some exercise and saying hello!).
– Pre-Festival Setup: Assist with setting up infrastructure in key locations – putting up signage, helping with basic construction (if needed), and preparing spaces.
– Spreading the Word: Help us promote the festival by sharing information online, putting up posters (in designated areas), and chatting with local businesses.
– Volunteer Coordination Support: Assist our volunteer coordinator with tasks like data entry, communication, and organizing schedules.
– “Pride in the Outside” Judging Support: If you have an eye for detail, you could help with the logistics of judging our neighbourhood beautification competition.

During the Festival (June 13-15th 2025):

Information Point Heroes: Be a friendly face and provide information to festival attendees – answering questions about the program, directions, and general festival info.

Event Support Crew: Assist event organizers with their activities – helping with setup, managing crowds, and ensuring things run smoothly. This could be anything from a music stage to a kids’ activity area.
